We’re Here for You
As COVID-19 continues to make news around the world, we remain focused on preparation efforts related to the potential impact of the virus at Morehouse General Hospital, our clinics and community. Therefore, we will provide regular communication updates to keep you informed of the latest developments.
As of March 16, 2020, Morehouse General Hospital is no longer allowing visitors, to protect patients and staff from the coronavirus. These restrictions relate to family, friends, students, volunteers, and non-essential outside workers; exceptions may be made for family members of end-of-life patients.
Hospitals around the state are working closely with the Centers for Disease Control, the Louisiana Department of Health, and local public health officials to prepare for and respond to COVID-19. All hospitals follow the Centers for Disease Control’s recommended infection prevention and control practices, including minimizing the chance for exposures, placing any patient with known or suspected COVID-19 in a separate location, providing personal protective equipment to healthcare personnel (gloves, gowns, masks), and educating staff, patients and the community on proper hand hygiene.
Please see our Facebook page for updates.
