Morehouse Healthcare Foundation to raise $1 Million this year towards new hospital facility

Bastrop, LA, March 19, 2021 –

The Morehouse Healthcare Foundation was established in 2017 as a supporting organization of the Morehouse General Hospital and the community. The Foundation is an independent 501(c) (3), nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Its purpose is to philanthropically support Morehouse General Hospital’s capital projects, to help to the hospital provide high quality health care and to improve the overall health of our community. We seek collaborations with community organizations, local businesses, and individuals to provide funding to make those goals a reality. Through our contribution opportunities, the Foundation offers residents and businesses a way to become stakeholders in the hospital and improve our community.

The tax-deductible donations are used for hospital capital projects chosen by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Donations to the Foundation provide financial support to the hospital beyond what it receives through government reimbursements and patient revenues. The Healthcare Foundation’s goal, through donations and fundraising events, is to raise $1 million in 2021.  These funds will be used for the construction of a new, state-of-the-art hospital facility that will be operational by 2026.
